Confirmed it's 1050ti. Just turn the baby on. But I find it kind of slow not sure why.

That's probably the hard drive.

Thanks OP for sharing this deal. This is exactly what I was looking for. I called many stores around Ottawa and in Quebec around Montreal and no store have this model :( I guess we might not get it in Quebec since the keyboard is US english... If anyone see the Y530 in Quebec or around Ottawa, please let me know!
I bought a y520 3 weeks ago in Qc and the keyboard is english. I guess SDM dont care about THE law.

I'm trying to find a full spec list for the Y530 model, and I'm having trouble finding evidence that it actually exists.

The model number is 81FV00XKUS. There are several models in the 81FV family, but that one is not on the Lenovo site, and nothing from Google, Bing, Yahoo, or DDG.

https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo ... 15?MT=81FV

Change the region to NA, and the other 1050/Ti models have a simple enough pattern; I have no idea where "XK" comes from considering these:

81FV0012US
81FV0013US
81FV0014US
81FV0015US
81FV0016US

None of those fit what I gather the SDM version is, going by this thread and the box:

i5-8300H
8 GB RAM
1 TB HDD (5400 RPM?)
No optical drive
15.6" FHD IPS display (250 nits?)
3 cell battery
Windows 10 Home
GTX 1050 Ti

I can enter the serial number on the Lenovo support site, but the "machine info" it provides is essentially blank.

Lenovo Y530.png

Also (a bit out of the loop on CPUs, I guess)... Apparently 8th-gen Intel mobile CPUs can be Kaby Lake (i5-8250U) or Coffee Lake (i5-8300H). And desktop Coffee Lake is both 8th and 9th gen. Y U DO DIS TECH COMPANIES Angry Face

I posted this earlier, it's a full list of the parts based on the SN from the OP although you do need to do some decoding with the part descriptions (be sure to hit show more at the bottom):

This is a 1050Ti, you can look at the full list of parts here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/prod ... xkus/parts
As for the CPU part numbers, confusion is kinda Intel's game lately.

Depends on the store. If it's unopened, and they didn't stamp 'FINAL SALE' on your receipt, then you should be able to.

Thanks @Kwirky

Here's a link to copy without the referral stuff:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-y530-15ich/81fv/81fv00xkus/parts

Going by that, the HDD is a ST1000LM049 (7200 RPM). Not sure about the display, but I assume it's 250 nits; NA models with GTX 1060 are the only ones with 300 nits.

Here's the maintenance manual:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mo ... 201805.pdf

I think it was mentioned before, but 16 GB RAM max. DDR4-2666 260-pin SODIMMs, right? If so, here's a PCPP page:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/me ... &sort=ppgb

I'll have to look into SSDs a bit more, but it seems like this would take M.2 2280. (Which is the form factor, as opposed to 2.5"?)
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/in ... 22080&i=85

Late edit: Apparently filtering with "M.2 (M)" checked will effectively give only M.2 PCIe/NVMe drives. M.2 SATA drives (e.g. WD Blue and Crucial MX500) would be incompatible with the Y530 laptop.

I called about every store downtown, west island and center/north of Montréal and some north and south shore store. The store where I found mine only had one, the one I got. Good luck!

Are there any other locations that have it in Missisauga/Etobicoke areas?
A few stores had the y520, only 1 had y530. Called about 15-20 stores.

It's about half the overall performance of the samsung evo 970. Its on the lower end for m.2 drives. Still great deal for light/medium users.

I just bought the hp i3 laptop that was going for $549.99 yday (just using it as a secondary)

So I had 20x for min $75 spend this weekend on my PC optimum app

So i used 140k points since it was bonus redemption weekend to get it for $549.99*tax13% = $621.49

$621.49-$200 = $421.49. I received 105k optimum points for the pre tax total of $549.99-$200 = $349.99.

So basically i just bought this laptop for all in ~$316?

That's crazy....going in yesterday i did not think i could stack/receive any points at all since i was redeeming points for the purchase

Is this how it's supposed to work? lol
