Finally, a decent deal. My personalized offer lately are spent $100+ to get 20X.. I can't find $100 worth of groceries at SDM that isn't overpriced per week.

I feel you -- it's a struggle to find even $50 worth for me.
My personal jackpot was an (targeted) offer of 5k points on $25 (way back in the summer)

The 45 points per dollar is if you have the world elite card, which I'm guessing most people probably do not have.

Not according to most posts I see... it seems like EVERYONE have the elite card LOL

Which apparently cost more for the vendors to accept since they typically offer better reward - which translate to higher transaction fees for the vendors

Yes, from the past promo I usually get

15 x $50 x 20 = 15,000 (20x)
+
45 x $50 = 2,250
+ 5,000 bonus
= 22,250 for $50 spent.

No it should work out like this on a 50$ purchase
Base Value is 15pts / 1$ spent = 750
20x the points = 15000
5 k extra = 5000
MC purchases = 30 pts / 1$ spent = 1500
Total = 22,250
Which works out to be 44.5% back in points. The 45 quoted is the standard 15 pts per dollar plus an extra 30 pts per dollar.

Someone correct me if I am wrong

The system will give you whichever resulting in higher points. So if you spend $100, you would get 30k points (20x is better). BUT you don't get bonus points on gift card purchases.

OK, so if I bought tomorrow with offer in app...

=25k points for $100 spend

But if I wait until Saturday...

15 x $100 x 20 = 30k points
+
30 x $100 = 3k points
= 33k points for $100 spend and NO 5k bonus points

Is that correct, for gift cards?

When they advertise 45 points per dollar, that's a combination of:

15 pts per dollar (1.5%) for PC Optimum member purchases at Shoppers Drug Mart
30 pts per dollar (3%) for PC MasterCard World Elite cardholder purchases at Loblaw-umbrella stores (I think)

20x Optimum point promotion only applies to the 15 points per dollar. (1.5% x 20 = 30%)

On a $50 purchase, you'd earn:

50 x 15 x 20 = 15,000
50 x 30 = 1,500 (Possibly slightly more, if it's calculated on post-tax totals. Not sure about this.)
5,000
= 21,500 points total

No if you spend $100 on QUALIFIED products (gift card excluded), you would get 39.5k. These bonuses (20x + 5k bonus) exclude the purchase of tobacco, lotto, alcohol, gift card etc..

This exactly. Nothing but $100 spend threshold offers for over a month. And I have returned the favour by not shopping at SDM during that period (except for the occasional bag of chips).

Haha that was me too. Except I still pick up the milk and eggs on occasions since their pricing on these aren't bad.
