Honestly pretty cold since most items are regular price. I find you get more value on redemption during mega sales (which is often 1 week before redemption) cause a lot of stuff are on sale. A few item might carry over to the redemption week but in most cases, big ticket items are cheaper during mega sales.

Yes, you can and they cap it at 500,000 points per transaction. I did just that last time when there was a bonus redemption weekend buying a laptop computer using 500,000 points for $600 off.

Yes, last year at Christmas, I bought two XBOX ONE X. I redeemed 300,000pts for $450 on each. I made $60-$80 on each on Kijiji in three days. Barely worth it, as I take on extra risk because of Shopper's no return policy on electronics.
Whoa hold the phone; they don't do returns on the most expensive and defect-prone merchandise? I guess if I kijiji it, it's not really my problem and since I'd provide the POP, standard OEM warranty would apply for the new owner?

60-80 over on each is pretty sweet, I'm not even looking to profit, just release that liquid cash.

How does one end up with half a million points? Buying items on 20X pt events? I never shop at Pharmaprix.

Haha...pretty interesting fellow indeed...but it was this persistence/stubbornness of his that got him the positive result in the end.

... Although, I'm a little surprised you went against what everyone advised ,op. You've got balls and absolutely crazy at the same time to do this.

Has anyone seen the Surface Go bundle anywhere in Vancouver or Burnaby? Planning on redeeming it tomorrow and getting 20X points back.

Quite easy actually:
Check out the stores to see if they sell the brands you use at home.
Familiarise yourself with the prices of said items and wait for 20x points days when they have sales on the items. For instance if you buy Dove liquid soap that cost 6.99 at Shoppers and 5.99 everywhere else, you wait for shoppers to put it on sale for 2.99 or 3.99 then buy enough for one year to use at home on that day.
Repeat for all other items

If you love hunting for a good deal, this will be fun. If you hate deal hunting ... probably not a good game to play.
Last, have some patience, do some RFD browsing to figure out which items are worth your points and let the points add up.

Having a PC MasterCard and shopping at other stores and gaz stations that give optimum points help.

Cheers,

Just a fyi, we are roughly one month away from a very likely reveal of the next gen Surface Go.
Take that into consideration if that's what you're looking to buy.

Better battery life is a big, less charging, longer playtime, I call that improvement like it or not.

Does SDM have the same general prices of video games as everywhere else? I'm thinking of maybe picking up Borderlands 3, save a few bucks using points...

Optimum is game for me. I hold off buying milk, cream, cat food and whatever groceries aren't a rip off until there's a 20x points day. When coffee goes down to 6.99 for a big tin, I usually buy 4-6 of those to hit the minimum spend. I've earned over 400,000 points but really I don't know what to spend it on. I guess I could just switch to paying for those groceries with points for a few months. Has anyone bought a high value electronic item to resell? I'm thinking I could get close to retail on a PS4 in an unopened box. What would be the best item to do such a flip for maximum cash? I'd wait for the Xmas $450 for 300,000 points deal, if it happens. That makes more financial sense than just putting that sum towards groceries, right?

I'm really pissed off at the whole program, actually. I've tried to merge the account I have through the phone app, with my PC Financial MC and they can't figure it out. I've emailed, called, used the chat feature... multiple times.. no one can seem to merge the two accounts. Anyone else had this issue? I can't understand what the problem is. I send them the reciept number of a transaction where I scanned my phone app, and paid with the MC... just smoosh them together! I also get pissed tring to calculate how much I have in my cart... I've had to run to buy a couple more cans of catfood a bunch of times. Their cash always manages to tally a few bucks less than my estimates. And why do they make me wait!? I might want to buy certain things tonight but have to wait until a 20x event happens because the points on regular transactions are a joke! Like under 1000 for a 40 dollar spend, sometimes. It really dissuades me going in SDM unless there's a points event... is that really what they want - people avoiding the store most days?
I used to be like you lol, Don't buy something to resell its not worth it, just pay for groceries. you save 100% and no hassle to resell at a lost. I only go when its 20x points and always buy the same things our family needs, whatever is on sale that day I stock up until 50$ then i come back next 20x. Spend all my points at the grocery. Done and done.
PM me when there is a Post Canada sale !
