There's another extra promotion to get 30k for spending $150 in SDM before end of August. Not sure if it is for everyone.

That's a nice one. We don't have that on any of our 5 accounts.

Everything is outrageously overpriced at SDM.
Yes as a general rule true however when you combine deals/loss leaders with promotions like this, some prices become very competitive.

You get an extra 10-30 points per $1 spent when you use a PFCMC.

A store that routinely gives out 30% in points is overpriced?

I for one am shocked at this revelation.

Seriously tho, I think Milk, Eggs, Cereal and junk food (like Coca Cola) are generally priced low at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I will admit that you have to overpay on other items that you may not need as frequently to reach $50

I know it's not the smartest idea to overpay by 30% to get 30% in points, but on a lot of essential items, you pay the same as at other places that don't offer 30% in points.

I mean, basic milk is $4,39 for 4L in Toronto.

At Shoppers Drug Mart you earn 4.39 x 15 points x 20 multiplies (over $50 spend) or 1,317 points. No matter how you value the points, you are still getting more than the $0 you would elsewhere.

Of course, I would rather the store to just sell me stuff I want at the lowest price without points, but unfortunately, they want you to jump through hoops and they hope you buy stuff you don't need.

To be honest, I am surprised that they continue the 20x program as frequently as they do now that are under the Loblaws brand.

This must mean that it works in getting people into the store.

Nope! Get staple groceries. Go for the deals, get 20x..
Do due diligence and it can pay off large.
Time your bulk yearly purchases like the sun tan lotion a few weeks ago.

I've got 3 Nintendo Switches out of them in two years so far and presently 1.1 million points.
Wtf you did with those 3 switches

It's because these promos fool people into buying overpriced items.

It must be the 20th time in a row where I go to SDM and buy nothing. Every time I struggle to find something that is not outrageously overpriced, tell myself "You have got to be kidding me", and leave.

Extra promotion to get 100k for spending $400 in SDM before end of August on one of my accounts. And the other good part is in the details....Good For: Almost anything in store. Unlike most offers, this can be combined with other points offers!

Two for the kids and 1 sold for $350.
Switches were bought during points events (200k=300k / 300k=450k etc.)

Wow those are great! I'm not getting anything like those, probably because I'm a frequent abuser lol.

Just finished this offer at Shoppers

Regular Points 870
In-Store Bonus Points 16530
Digital Bonus Points 7200
PC Mastercard Bonus 5000 (Applied later)
PC Mastercard reguler points (not sure how many I will get)

Total points Eearned 29600 + PC Mastercard reguler points

Now for my question

I was also going to try and stack this offer (photo attached) they scanned my coupon and then another employee came over and said that this offer would not stack with the 20x bonus offer it will just give me the points for one of the offers, whichever is more. Since the 20x points $50 spend offer is worth $15 I would get nothing for $40 spend offer10 000 points texting They removed the texting offer so I could use it at a later time.

Was I given correct information? I have learned to trust RFD members more then what they tell em at the store

Any points experts care to weigh in

Nice points! May I ask what your spend was before tax?

I'm no points expert but even though they removed the entry, try doing a points query through your app and explain what you did.
You may be just awarded the points anyway. They are quite loose with points.

Only two days ago I queried a stackable spend $40 get 10k (physical coupon given to me by cashier last purchase) where I only got 4,751 points. I asked for the outstanding points, they gave me 10k. Go figure.
Stuff like this happens a LOT.
