[Shoppers Drug Mart] Switch: Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword + 20x points (in-store, online)

In-store and Online

Finally found Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword in SDM. This was at 5694 HW7 location (Woodbridge, Vaughan).

None available on the floor, guy brought out 6-7 copies from the back. He said they just got them in, so possibly other locations may get them too.

Conveniently had 20x points offer to go with that, so $23 back in points, making this around $67 tax in (if you redeem points on regular days, cheaper if you redeem on bonus redemption days). First lowest price on a brand new game, if you consider points. Though, if you know how Nintendo pricing works, there's a low chance it'll be lower for years.

Now available online too:

PS5, Xbox games I am not too concerned about, those usually go down in time. Nintendo on the other hand, almost never. Which is why I usually buy them from SDM.

Skyward Sword HD or Breath of the Wild - which is the better game if you can only pick one?

IMO skyward sword is better as it follows the traditional zelda formula.

I hated Breath of the Wild and thought it was the worst entry in the series, despite what the critics say.

Bold comment but I completely agree.

Played breath of the wild and its one of the best games i ever played. Absolutely amazing. Haven't played skyward sword yet, so hoping its a good one too.

Try looking at YouTube reviews to compare. I would say Breath of the Wild is a safe choice. There is so much to do there.

I would say A Link to the Past, that is included in Switch Online. Save your money

Having played both, BOTW is hands down the better game. But yes, Skyward Sword is more true to the classic Zelda formula. If you are a die hard for that formula and don't want something different, Skyward Sword is a great game. If you don't mind the change or have no experience with the classic Zelda format, then BOTW is much more game for the money. One thing to consider however is that BOTW is a 4 year old game now, and I expect you can easily find it used for much less than MSRP. Skyward Sword HD is a remaster, but it only just came out, and so in that regard is more worthy of the 79.99 tag. For reference, I bought BOTW used in 2018 for 60 bucks.

Also, 6 Skyward Sword in stock at King and Peter for anyone downtown, note that this location stamps games as final sale.

Breath of the Wild's price floor is still like $50 for a physical copy.

When Walmart had that crazy sale in December with a digital copy of the game+expansion pass for $56 I sold my physical copy for $60 literally the next day lol.

The whole point of BOTW was that it went back to the original NES Zelda formula. You get dropped into an open world with little direction, lots of exploration and areas that can done in different orders (until level 6).

Checked for this on the weekend and didn't find any but still on the hunt! My 20x is tomorrow. This is ALWAYS the best way to buy first-party Nintendo games.
Pay ~$67, play it and beat it and sell it for $65 used, even years later for some.

100% agreed. Breath of the Wild is probably one of the best games I've ever played. Playing it for the first time is similar the feeling that Super Mario 64 gave me the first time playing it. Just an EPIC game.

Checked on weekend too at other locations, they had none. Maybe they are just getting stock now, if you got one nearby with game section good idea to check.

There's a 25k on $75 spend active today.

Better ROI than 20x
