[Showcase] Bug-A-Salt 2.0 - $19.99

Found the Bug-A-Salt (2.0 edition) for $19.99 at Showcase. Note: it's sold out on-line, but seems to be the same price at store locations. I just picked up a spare at the Eglinton Square Showcase store (only 1 left there now). Can't seem to check in-store stock, so YMMV. It's a good price if you can find one.

I have this. It is totally useless against house flies. Takes five shots. Great for mosquitos and fruit flies.

I find it works great against flies. I hit them (usually on a wall), they get stunned and fall, then it's an easy finish with some paper towel. I think it depends on how accurate your shot is (I've had it blow apart a carpenter ant in one shot if hit perfectly, but also had to take 3-4 shots when I don't aim it well). That being said, I think this item is more about the amusement than the effectiveness, lol! :D

I hear the 3.0 version has a much tighter spread, which would fix the problem of not killing houseflies on the first shot sometimes. You can work around the problem by lining the fly up with a straight arm, so it gets hit at much closer range than when you hold the gun with two hands.

What about all the salt you now have to clean up from random places?

I find that it's barely noticeable. If it bothers you just quickly vacuum it up.
