Sign up for free US? Quicken Starter (1-year) and get 5GB DropBox promo code (maybe good for a year)

Deal Link:
I tried it and I did get a DropBox coupon code and when applied to my account, got me to 10.25GB. The last time I used the account was in 2014 so I don't know what my storage size was before entering the code. The OP in SD did mention his went from 2 to 7 GB.

Don't forget to sign up for Qucken Starter first. I signed up for a Quicken account, then realized I missed that step but it was all good in the end when I re-signed into my Quicken after signing up for the Starter trial. The 5GB bump might just be good for a year though.

Cobalt_Blue_FF;126241315 wrote:My auto-renew was set to off and there was a blue hyperlink next to it saying "turn on -auto renew". This was all under "MY ACCOUNT" on quicken.com. Hope that helps!
lcqqhahaha;126241447 wrote:Thanks for the response. There is no turn on/off option button showed in my account. I did a quick google. Looks like I need to wait for at least 24h after the new account been created to see that button.

Do you lose the 5GB after a year?

No one on SD knows as DropBox doesn't provide any indication.

I just tested before posting. Don't really use it.

I switched about a month ago for iCloud and 50GB/mth. Then the 3 device limit came, will likely never go back.

I thought that change only affected new accounts/connections.

If you’ve already connected multiple devices and don’t need to connect any new ones, I think it should be fine.

Agree that change does suck though.

You are right. But you can't replace current devices, so you eventually will have problem.

Thanks, OP. I needed more Dropbox space so another 5GB for free (for however long) is good for now. :)

You can also get 20GB for free for 6 months from Thingiverse. Download any thing and click on the promo that appears on the popup.

That said yeah Dropbox sucks now. Worse now than it was 10 years ago. Gimped public folders, no more static HTML hosting, device count limits, constant low space nagscreens and an ugly "modern" UI. The windows client also installs an always-running system service and they've been caught lying about security/privacy.

Thanks OP. Worked for me, didn't need to add any payment details.

Since I didn't read all the way, I was a bit confused on how to get this offer. Basically:

1) Go to https://www.quicken.com/turbotax/amazon and click "Redeem Now"
2) Create an account
3) After it says you have "purchased" Quicken Starter and offers you download links, go to https://www.quicken.com/my-account
4) Right underneath the "Download Quicken" section, there should be a new link called "Redeem Dropbox offer"

Thanks OP, reluctantly in for one, although Dropbox is putting the squeeze on customers after their device limitation, so idk if I will stay with the service anymore.

Same! The real question is whether it's permanent or for one year. The green check mark doesn't have an expiration date beside it though...I scrolled through my other earned space and my Samsung 48GB promo had a 2014 expiration but it also had a permanent 3GB. Who knows.

I had no idea about the device limit folks...I conveniently only use Dropbox on 3 devices...phone/tablet/laptop. Once that changes, GG.
