Siriux XM: $60/year plus FREE Amazon Echo Dot

Price:

$258.00

I was playing the annual game of renewing my Sirius XM subscription at promo prices and I came across this current promotion.

Subscribe for $5/Month for 12 Months and get a FREE upgrade to our All Access plan + a FREE Echo Dot.

The free Echo makes it essentially $30/year for the service. Not bad if you're looking for renewing your existing subscription or trying it out. I find the variety pretty good. The upgrade gets you a bunch of sports channels and streaming as well.

cancelling with sirius was one of the worst experiences i've had to endure this year. the constant callbacks and emails after that as well, wow. they really try to keep milking you.

i wasn't able to get the free echo dot when I resigned on the $60/year plan. YMMV

I was able to get the google home last time with the 6 month promo, but I had cancelled my plan a few months before.

I really hate the game where we have to keep calling in to get the promo code. They would have so many more customers if they just lowered their pricing. suppose too many people accept the $22 a month
I don't fail, I succeed at finding what doesn't work

I actually got this promo as my old subscription expired yesterday. First she offered me a 12 month subscription for $118/year ($9.33 a month). I said no thanks and mentioned this promo. Note it also includes all access.

She said she could only give me a 12 month subscription for $60 year...no all access and no echo dot. I again said no thanks I'll cancel.

She then supposedly spoke to her supervisor and because I never had all access before, this would make me a new subscriber so she gave me the deal for $60/year with All Access and the echo dot. Already redeemed the echo dot.

Persistence is key. Sirius with their highly inflated prices has taken a hit over the years and will do almost anything to keep a person subscribed when they can. So push (politely). If they decline, then cancel your subscription - they'll be calling you the next day with a new offer :)

I just called in, as my year was up so it was time for the Sirius XM dance. Initially, the rep offered a year subscription for something like 130.00 before taxes. I declined, then he shifted immediately to a 99/yr offer, as I responded saying we could do better. I mentioned the 60/yr offer, which he responded that was only for the base service, and I said I was seeing that it was for all access, at which point there was a bit of hemming and hawing, but then he said he could do the 60/yr w/ All Access and the Echo Dot. That price, with my credit from my recent renewal, made it certainly worth renewing at that price.

Most of the channels I listen to are music. The compression is so high, the quality of the music is worse than a 96kbps rate mp3. When I play 320kbps mp3s from an usb stick sounds like i changed the sound system. The channels repeat the music every few days (or even the same day) anyway, so the limited diversity, the low AM quality and the fact that I have to pay for it makes it a really bad deal. I cant even turn that nice song louder, it sounds awful and it takes away the fun. Lucky if you have a base model, that sounds even worse.
Back in the day, the comedy channels didn't have ads, now they do, so they are off the list. It defeats the purpose of paid radio, IMHO.
I will stick to a family paid Spotify account and shared with a friend and have 20GB downloaded at high quality, this covers all my road trips for hours to no end.

Gotta admit, ever since we got unlimited data plans here in Canada... I have not cared about sirius/XM radio anymore. My last 1 year sub, I used it maybe 2 times, youtube and such, are much better and free. Thanks though OP, but I think this deal is always available, including when I posted it last year and the year before lol.

Great timing - year was up and I was able to call in and renew all access & Dot (though delivery isn’t scheduled until Jan 8 from Amazon).

With podcasts and ability to live rewind many channels now, the service gets better and better for the same price.

Just called as my last years promotional rate was ending. Just asked to cancel and when they asked why mentioned I don't use it due to having spotify. She started explaining the benefits over spotify and then I said I saw this promo online and mentioned it. Said if I can't get this then I'll just cancel. Gave it to me with no push back. They are out of stock but I got a Google home mini instead

Canceling is a nightmare with XM, claimed that Google Nest Screen thing earlier and when I cancelled they practically berated me. Never again.

Just made the switch.
I was on the Select Package.
Here is the summary of my experience:

1) I was able to secure the $60 /year and keep the SELECT package with a ONE time payment during the 3rd month of my years subscription. I was refunded $17.
2) They tried hard to push me into the ALL ACCESS Package for the same price on a MONTHLY Subscription of $4.99. ( I didnt take the bait. )
3) If I wanted the Free Echo I had to use the Code MEGA499DOTM and the would have resulted in a Monthly Billing for the first year.

I prefer to make a ONE time payment myself.
Call centre was in the Philippines. Very nice operator and very informed.

FYI, you can get the google mini instead.

I just called in yesterday to cancel and mentioned the $60/yr deal with free Google Mini and they didn’t hesitate to give it to me. Renewed for another year.

Last year this time I got the $60/yr + Free Echo Dot Gen 3

Edit: on SELECT package with internet steaming free
