Not sure if you are reading other threads in pandemic time as items with normal price but considered hard to get were posted in hot deals as well. These bikes were so hard to hope it will help some one !

Agreed - seems every time someone posts how Costco has bikes in stock (at regular price), people love it.

I just got a basic bike tune up and it cost me $100. I started looking around and shops have increased their prices on services. The lowest price for a tune up I got was $80.
Good bike for general commuting in an urban and slightly off road environment. I sold a lot of these DS3s at the old trek store in Toronto and this is the middle model of this line, very capable for most people. If you're looking to ride mostly on paved, I'd check out treks FX 3.
Also, trek has two other stores in Aurora and Barrie if you're set on this brand you could give them a call for stock too, they take orders with deposit (at least we used to)

I'm inclined to think that the recent price hikes on practically anything is due to too much money chasing the same amount of goods. It has less to do with shortages than with the fact that our dollar has less buying power because we (some of us) have more of it. In short: Inflation.
