Small backyard plan

Morning!

My husband and I recently moved into a new house. We are looking forward to having grass and a fence in place. In the meantime, we are working on our layout and looking for feedback and ideas for our first garden.

Our yard faces east and we are in ontario zone 5A (I think)
We would like to have a 2 tier raised garden beds on the north side.
Maybe have potato planter pot on west side
It would be great to have an herb garden on hanging planter boxes on east fence.
overall, the size of yard is approx. 36' x 25'

Looks pretty sweet to me!

If you like apples I found some pretty awesome trees that are great for small properties. Placed an order for them on the weekend. They grow 9-12 ft tall but only 2-3 ft wide.

This site is pretty expensive but they have free delivery. You need to grow at least 2 different variety of apple trees for pollination.

It is not advisable to have the deck right up to the fence, in fact most bylaws require at least 2ft clearance. Also consider leaving a pathway for side yard access.

What software did you use to draw that plan?

Have you considered converting your backyard to a food forest? You won't ever have a huge weed problem, and can start growing food in the backyard with bees and butterflies pollinating your flowers.
