Smart WIFI Thermostat for high voltage systems

I have a high voltage thermostat which apparently isn't compatible with the big players like the Ecobee or Nest, so I'm wondering if someone knows of a good smart thermostat that works with high voltage systems?

On a side note, I'm also wondering... what's the disadvantage to having a high voltage system and why does Ecobee/Nest not support them?
