Smoothstreams subscription group buy

I'm wondering if anyone on RFD is interested in a group buy for a smoothstreams subscription. Purchased through paypal and split between 3 people it comes out to roughly $33 each for a 6 month term. Up to three different IP addresses can access SS simultaneously, so you could only use the account on one device at a time (unless you want to pay for 2/3 of the cost).

just to clarify, you can use the account on up to 10 devices at a time but only spread over 3 IPs. So basically 3 connections per IP. VPNs aren't allowed with the service.

I might go in with you for a sub for my father in law. I just need to check and see if kodi can be installed on his samsung smart tv

I'm pretty sure that each device has it's own IP address. My desktop doesn't have the same IP as my laptop or tablet, despite being connected to the same router. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Let me know if you find anything about getting kodi on a Samsung TV. I briefly looked it up and don't think it's possible.

It’s 3 external IPs and up to 10 internal IPs

I’ll let you know how I get on with the kodi/Samsung tv thing....

Is it a reliable service? Do they have local channels, specifically CP24?

I wouldn't consider SmoothStreams a replacement for cable. They do have some network stations (no CP24) but they focus mainly on sports and will air the sports events over the channels. So you may end up with something like tennis running on HBO. Its a great addition to cable though. Especially if you want every sports event you can handle.

Lately their reliability has been pretty bad too. I'm not sure if they are working on updates but during the last UFC event they went down. I think the database took a crap.
