I got a pi for this purpose. I'm not a speed runner or anything, but emulation will still have a few more frames of lag compared to a console. I've done a lot of testing with retropi (with tweaks I found online for optimization) and Wii-U virtual console and it's still noticeable in Super Mario World especially when you're jumping with the sprite partially off an edge.

Are you 100% sure about that. I have both an SNES class and use a Pi3 and see no difference between the two (except the crap after market controllers I have for the Pi)
