WholeFoods always above all for fresh seafood and most meats. You know the quality, they know where this comes from and the taste cannot be beat. Usually more expensive but ohhh so worth it.

Yup, I went to get some at Longo's and passed on them, very unattractive pieces. While I love it and its delicious at the price vs. filet quality was not worth it. If I wanted a skimpy filet I would just buy some cheap sole. Plus someone did a massacre job pulling the bones the flesh was all torn up like a chicken was pecking at it.

Lol!! Superstore did a good job of getting the bones out. No pieces that looked pecked.JACKIE26 wrote: ↑Yup, I went to get some at Longo's and passed on them, very unattractive pieces. It was $58/kg 2 weeks ago at Costco when I bought the first one this year. Then it went down to $38/kg this week.

Off topic but a good discount, if you got the 2000 pts. Bonus Offer on Tuesday for frozen Wagyu burgers, it stacks with the flyer/in-store offer of 2500 points to give you 4500 points on your purchase.
These burgers are pretty good, but so rich that they taste a bit like sausage.

Big sale on at Save-On-Foods in Vancouver area, fresh (never frozen) sockeye fillets for $20/kg ($9/lb). That's an unbeatable price.

That's actually pretty cheap. In Florida, where I lived for the past three years I saw it go up nearly $35-39 / lbs.

I picked up a whole Sockeye last week at Costco for $16/kg. Made two really nice fillets. It is pretty easy to fillet the fish and it was almost 50% cheaper than the prepared sides at Costco.

$99/kg at Costco Moncton for Copper River sockeye. I was $55/kg not long ago. Not sure if it was a mispriced or not.

Not a mis-price. I've seen that jump in price at end of season in other years.
Comparing the quality, I find BC Sockeye is the tastiest this year. So delicious and $32 something a kg.. I'm going to be so sad when fresh sockeye salmon season is over.
