Classic Games Catalog
PlayStation Plus Premium**/Deluxe Plan

PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members will have a selection of popular classic games to play, with some titles that will show improved frame rates and higher-quality resolution compared to their original launch versions. For select original PlayStation and PSP classic games, members will also enjoy a new user interface with menus that allow you to save your game at any time, or even rewind the game if you want a do-over.

Also, players who have previously purchased the digital version of select games from the original PlayStation and PSP generation will not have to make a separate purchase or sign up to PlayStation Plus to play these titles on PS4 or PS5. When these titles are released for PS4 and PS5, players can head to PlayStation Store and download a version for the consoles at no extra cost if they already own the digital version of the title. Some of the titles will also be available for individual purchase.

Haven't been following lately.

Can you only play these games on a console? Or can play in browser as well like Xbox?

I've read there are rumours that Sony is in talks with a "partner" to distribute this service to PC through a digital platform. My guess is it'll be Epic Games, but idk yet and I definitely don't need another games launcher. For now it'll be console only during this initial roll out.

What a crazy line up for ps plus last month ever. Great detailed post, upvoted. No mention of ps2/ps1 remasters. One of my most favourite games on ps2 was LOTR:TT. Ps2 had the best games ever

This is for the new services extra/premium tier that comes out late june, not the current ps plus essential tier.

The "essential" one, which means nothing changes for you. You do not get access to the merged ps now library of games service, that is for the highest level. What I'd like to know is the price increase if you already have ps plusbto jump to the top tier.

No, this library of games will be available in June once the top tier of the new subscription is live.

I believe most games would be available for streaming using the PS Now app but AFAIK you wouldn't be able to download them. Not sure about the PS5 games though
Anyway what a lineup! Did not expect this

I'm specifically referring to the title of the post games which will be available for the current ps plus subscription, but you're right this is for next month and I guess not really the final month of this because of the essential service.

I mean you can stream, but it’s just not a very good experience compared to having actual hardware. I don’t see the point in saving a few hundred dollars on a console. Game streaming as it is today is obviously a side effect of sales people making decisions, digital subscriptions sure… server side games is a big no. I can see us get to the point where the entire game is stored somewhere else, but your local hardware still plays the game.. but we aren’t there yet.

The title of the post games are not going to be available on the current ps plus essential service. Those are just the headliners for the new premium tiers. The title should say premium or something.

You can download the games, except ps3 since sony haven’t made an emulator for that yet. Sony could do it, but it would take an investment they might not be willing to make since it’s not straight forward.

Smart on sony for sweetening the pot for the new service plans. That is a lot of content. How many games can one person play?

I'm more of a casual gamer right now. Not having to spend several hundred dollars for a console works for me since I hardly get to play.

I've been playing mainly on Stadia and tried Xbox for a bit. Haven't had much hiccups for either. However, I'm much more of a PS kind of guy. Would love to test out this streaming when it is out.
