If you get ps4 control, does it automatically "purchase" ps5 version too, so when i get a ps5 in 8 years when they're $200, i can play ps5 Control without buying it again?

Yeah, it will be available for both PS5 and PS4.

Important to note that the *TRUE PS5 version isn't out until March. It will be a free upgrade. But play it on PS5 and you'll get the PS4 trophy list.

Edit: Props to Swaghunter for his research. PS5 physical edition is released in March.

Xbox copied Playstation, if anything. Sony had Control on PS Now long before Xbox gave it away for free.

wow I just platinumed Control last week....

OMG they really dropped a bomb!!!! I just downloaded Control on gamepass but it's getting deleted ASAP with the free upgrade to PS5 graphics soon + a new full PS5 AAA release for free!!

Yes, this is the ultimate edition so you get both. Gamepass got the regular with no upgrade.
