CoD WWII is good but SWBF2 is mediocre since I believe many people including me bought the game at 9.99 at last Boxing day and Xmas holiday.

Star Wars BF2 looked like it had its last content update late April/early May, though there seemed like a tweak patch today.

Still quite excited to see BF2 up here though.

It's been as low as $5 on other platforms and generally dirt cheap to play on EA Access. I don't get why Sony can't include higher value games considering how much they earn from these membership fees, especially after raising the price and removing PS3/Vita games over the years. Seems they just pocket the majority of those subscriber fees.

I bought Battlefront 2 when it launched, traded it in, bought it for PC when it was 5 bucks, and now I get it back on PS4 for free even though I doubt I play it much again

Yes. You need a PS Plus account to get this. If your PS Plus account expires, you lose access to all PS Plus Free games until your join again.

Am I understanding correctly that SWBF2 originally launched in 2017 but has had such significant updates that it was re-released or at least re-reviewed in 2019? Or are they separate games?

You are correct. The game was torn to shreds due to the loot box system and other issues when it first started. Yeah apparently addressed many things in their updates and now I hear lots of good things about the game. Looking forward to it. Hope it can wash the taste of the original from my mouth

If it’s not at least 50% off is it really a deal?

The thing is, if you're subscribed to PS plus just for the free games, then it's always going to be not enough value.

Main purpose is still for multiplayer experience. Free games are just bonus on top.
