[FINAL FANTASY XV ROYAL EDITION]|$23.49|50%

Last Final Fantasy game I've played asides the FF7 remake is FF13 (with Lightning if I remember). Didn't like it a lot, might one day give it another shot to see.

Anyone played this … recommend or not?

Half of the game is pretty amazing, the final half is less than a meh...

Exactly. A couple of very cool moments through the game but the last part was (or at least felt) extremely rushed. I think maybe they spread themselves too thin with a feature movie, a couple mobile games and the main game.

I'd say its worth a play but keep your expectations in check.

i haven't played, but heard good things when it was released. i haven't played FF since 6/7, and had been considering buying this game when it hit a certain price.

i will note that the standard edition is part of PS+ Collection that will be available to PS5 owners, so i was planning to play it then...save a few bucks

If My Hero One’s Justice 2 was a bit cheaper I would’ve picked it up. It’s unfortunate that many anime games just don’t have dubbed voices, like Persona, Naruto, and DBZ games do.

yeah visually great looking game. combat is a bit simplified but fun for new players. leading up to the ending is very rushed.
FF7 is like the refined version of 15 combat

I hate the English dubbed voices. I intentionally turn off the English in anime and other productions. Maybe I just got used to the Japanese (and Chinese in Shaw Bros. movies) over the years...41 as of this June...

That said I do know that others love the English and other countries dubbed voices. Ah well...

I enjoyed it a lot, it’s a linear open world combo, the fighting isn’t turn based but something more like devil may cry, there are quite a few side activities, the story was a 7/10 IMO, for the price it’s worth it, if you’re a player that likes to do everything in a game you can easily get 100+ hrs.

Copy and paste into excel, then use text to columns and select delimited with the | as your delimiter...you can then sort however you want.

I’m a huge Final Fantasy fan and it was... ok I guess. Wouldn’t make my top ten Final Fantasy titles. If you’ve played games like The Witcher 3 or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey it shares a lot of DNA with those sorts of titles.

The absolute best modern FF title is Final Fantasy XIV. Even if you dislike the MMO genre you can pick that up and treat it like a single player game with chat. Extremely good game.

As for FFXV, if you’re going to pick it up my suggestion would be to play the base storyline and get rid of it when you finish that. All the “games as a service” stuff didn’t appeal to me at all. There’s enough gameplay in the main storyline to justify $25.

I'm sad they don't have Vita deals anymore. I was always on the fence for those Persona dancing games. I still pick up my Vita now and then and work on the backlog. But I guess it's a dead platform and it's time for me to move on and take my money elsewhere.

Combat is an absolute blast, story is absolutely terrible.

My life has become a cycle of figuring out what deals to return and what to keep.

I wouldn't call it brainless button mashing. That doesn't give the combat any credit it deserves.
If anything, the criticism with combat is you can get through a lot of the weaker battles just teleporting and striking repeatedly.

I finished the game without the expansions and thought it was great. People seem to hate on it because it's not turn-based.
