Bought a Hisense Q8G from Visions but it came broken out of the box im in the process of returning it now and was wondering if i should go the X800

Looking for a 65" TV around the 1000 mark

any tips / recommendations?

Check both models on rtings

My personal preference would be Sony since it runs off Android which would let me install the app for my iptv directly to the tv instead of using a box. I'm not sure what hisense runs for its OS.

But definitely check for reviews on whatever models you are looking at so you have more of an educated purchase decision.

The X800H is IPS, so dark scenes will look awful in a dark room. I have the X800E and it sucks if I turn the lights off. It should look good in a bright room though, and it has very good viewing angles.

The Q8G is VA, meaning contrast should be much better but it’s viewing angles will not be good. If getting a VA panel you really should only look at it straight on or else the picture quality suffers. Also, Hisense probably doesn’t calibrate in the factory as thoroughly as Sony.
