for $20, you definitely made the wrong choice, as in source lingo:

open box = display model

Should be working now, it's the RFD Affiliate link converter that isn't working. I turned it off.

$280 for a laptop is a good price, but at that level you have to accept there will be compromises. if you can get over the low res screen and have a bit of extra money to upgrade the HDD to a SSD then go for it.
Say NO to terrorists.

I'm sorry OP but saving $20 for an Open Box model is a bad deal. Buy the new one while you still can.

Can its RAM be expanded? The specifications are not clear on that. Any suggestion on RAM and SSD upgrade, will be highly appreciated. Seriously, considering to buy one for a high school student. Thanks op..

You'd rather have an open box demo for a $20 saving? Wrong choice!! ;)

+1. And most FHD screens are touch screens. Why not pack laptops with FHD/no touch if manufacturers want to keep the prices down?

If the new one is just $20 more, definitely get the new one. For a pretty recent i3, it's not a terrible deal, though there are definitely compromises.

I saw an employee at the source eating a subway sandwich off a display model laptop once. Inspect for mayo drippings and lettuce pieces before deciding to keep it.
The name is pronounced El‧u‧àr‧do. I am the ultimate deal hunter, y'all just gatherers. I was the first openly black man to get a Costco membership.

+1! Not everyone needs touch screen on a laptop, touchscreen is good for tablets and phones, not every budget laptop!

I think OP took the open box because the new one is sold out?
Like many clearance items that are priced too good, they are usually sold out too. Like a while ago, I saw an Asus desktop at Staples with an i5-6400 and some usual configuration like 8GB of ram, 2TB HDD, AC wireless, etc for $400 brand new. But it was sold out online and in stores, 250km radius of my location. If I would have found an open box, but from Staples, at $20 less and in stock, I would have took it.
