The Source T6i and T5i sales

Hi all,

The Source has these sales on right now:
T6i for $870
T5i for $700

From what I know, the differences between T5i and T6i are the megapixels and sensors, is the $170 worth the differences?

And are these good prices for these cameras? I'm not in a rush to make these purchases, I have until early next year but if these are good prices (around the same as black friday/holiday sales?) I might just make it now. I've also been looking through used cameras but the prices are around the same and I'm pretty inexperienced in buying used, so if it's only a little bit more expensive, I'll just buy brand new.

Lastly, any bad experiences w/ buying from The Source?

Thanks!!

EDIT: I ended up getting a used T4i w/ the kit 18-55 lens, 15-85mm EFS and a 50mm EF lens for $700. Good deal or na?

I think the prices are alright for t6i + kit - t5i pretty lack luster deal - seems cold. Double check with photoprice.ca - shows history and a bunch of vendor pricing.

I;m pretty sure t6i is actually a decent jump in everything with more buttons and like image quality/ auto focus and can't remember if this model gets the screen on top or was it a higher model of T6i only. if you think you need those extra features then the difference is worth it. If you don;t plan to use those features I would get a used t3i - t5i since those are relatively the same and not much difference in quality/ features. They range from $325 - 600 used which I think is a good deal and they tend to include bag/ sd cards.

Haven't gotten anything from source, except some clearance stock stuff with super low inventory. Best deal got a lowpro bag ($45) and a t4i battery ($50) combo with family and friend discount stacked for like $33 bucks after tax was insane had to search 4 locations to get just 2 of them. I do find their sales tend to be cold deals unless you can stack some sort of promotion on top.

30% more pixels, twice as many autofocus points, WiFi, and a bit better ISO and picture.

The T5i is basically the same camera as the T4i. The T6i is a minor upgrade with a slightly better sensor and better AF system.

Personally, I would suggest getting a T2i or T3i in the used market for $200 to $250, and if you really wanna spend another 600 bucks, invest it in lenses or a good flash.
The T5i still used the T2i / T3i / T4i sensor.

The latest Rebels are only a minor upgrade over the T2i / T3i, not a major one.

Would it be better to spend a little bit more money and get the t6s?

The 15-85 is a decently sharp all-around lens. You could sell the kit lens, as it's redundant, and recoup some money.

Not a bad deal! The T4i is basically the same camera as a T5i.

Although you can sell the 18-55 kit lens, I wouldn't recommend it, you likely won't get more than 50 bucks for it, and it's small, light and useful with decent optical quality. Just keep it.
