This seems like a good plan from a speakout on new activations. The normal price is $45, with the current promo in place you get :

$25/month unlimited talk and text + 3GB data. for two months. Then price reverts back to $45/month.

Speakout piggybacks on rogers network so reception is the same as rogers.

Fine print: It looks like the promo will be applied for two months, after which the monthly rate reverts back to $45. Promo ends March 2, 2020, according to the website.

As per fine print

"Promotional price plan good for two consecutive plan renewals."

So, it's only 2 months not 2 years.

You right I was so excited haha changed the original post. Still a good deal for a lot of people even with the normal price I think. Especially if you don't need a lot of data.

You got to be kidding. $45 for 2G is no longer a good deal these days. Try Zoomer, 4G for $40 ($36 if autopay). Or try PM for roughly similar pricing.

In long run, Public Mobile $38 with autopay enabled for unlimited Canada wide minutes and texts + 5GB data. Public Mobile is on Telus network.

Loyalty reward $1/year/month after staying with Public Mobile for 1 year to max $5/m after staying with PM for 5 years. $33/m 5GB data with autopay after staying with PM for 5 years.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $36 5GB, $12 250MB, 2x $6 50min/50text, Fido $5 4GB data only plan with a free tablet,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone. Have a better and better day!

If you don't talk that much and use data most of the time, Fido's data only plan might work better for you. $15 gets you 4gb of data and you can download app at the appstore that will allow you to have a local number when you need to make a call.

In the long run, we'll have better plans than we have now. As evidenced by the 10gb/$60 being a groundbreaking deal three years ago but not really anymore.

A better deal in this round of promos is the free SIM with $35 top-ups.

This would be of interest to new customers or to people who are switching phones and need a different-size SIM card.

Otherwise the SIM sells for $10 with zero balance.

You can get 4GB data for $40 right now without waiting for good deals to pop up, so no this is a bad deal.

Wow, it's cold in here. The price is way too high for what they offer. Speakout used to be good when they offered unlimited browsing for $10 but since they dropped it their plans are non-competitive. Still a good option for a "burner phone" though - buy it anonymously over the counter and trash it afterwards with no tracking.
