[Sport Chek] Apple Watch Earn 50x Bonus CT Money

Sport Chek has 50x CT money on Apple Watch’s from December 12 - December 23. Series 5 watches are included.

The 50x points right now works out to around 20% back in rewards. CT money can be redeemed at Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Atmosphere, or Mark's stores.

EDIT: THE TRIANGLE BONUS DAYS EVENT (extra 20-30x points) WILL NOT OVERLAP WITH THIS EVENT LIKE LAST YEAR. THEY JUST ANNOUNCED IT WILL BE JANUARY 3-4th THIS YEAR. SO BUY NOW IF YOU WANT IT.

Makes it even better if you use the 15% off Sport Chek gift cards from Rexall or Canadian Tire last month.

Here is the info.

Perhaps a dumb question but with Triangle rewards, you can earn points at a bunch of stores but you can only redeem them at Canadian Tire?

Interested in people’s opinion. Should I keep my series 4 I bought on Black Friday for $100 off and purchased with 15% off giftcards or return it and get this instead?

Thx op going to hit up local sportchek tomorrow. I have 6 $100 gift cards. What can I do if they don’t allow me to combine 6 cards into one $600 card or don’t allow me to use 6 cards on 1 transaction?

They will. I combined 13 $50 gift cards at a store a couple weeks ago. I think the only limitation to using gift cards is online where you can only redeem two max.

Its 50X total even if charged to a Can Tire CC, not 50+30 is my understanding.

With the series 5 there were a few improvements over series 4 but nothing earth shattering.

From a financial point of view, the series 4 gave you $100 off immediately. Here, you'll be receiving CT money to use for future purchases of approximately $113.80 assuming you have a Triangle Mastercard.

If you have the triangle MasterCard you are actually getting the 50x points plus 4% in CT money. Works out to be 24% back in points. So if you are buying the 44mm series 5 watch you are getting $136.56 back. With the 40mm series 5 you get $126.96 back.

The always-on screen of the series 5 makes it 100% worth it IMO.

Can someone please explain to me, in a form as if I don’t know much, how the extra bonus points work (the 20 or 30 times, if that comes up) for those using gift cards?

Presumably, if I use a gift card, then I’m not using my triangle card to pay? Would that still allow me to get the extra points?

So I go in, buy an Apple Watch with my gift cards, and then I use my triangle card just to scan, and I get 50x the points even though I used gift cards? Or 50+30 if the other deal appears?

Sorry!

yup, i think you got it.
Pay with gift cards, scan your triangle membership, and you should receive 50x points on triangle.

if you pay with triangle credit card, you get the 50x + whatever the credit card gives you in triangle points.

The CTM reward unit is 0.4%, so spending $100 gets you 40 cents. Very lame when there is no multiplier. So, 20x gets you 8%, 30x gets you 12% and 50x gets you 20% in CTM. Best deal is to pay with a bunch of gift cards obtained via a 15% promo. As long as you don’t care about the extended warranty various credit provides, 15% GC + 50x nets the best deal. These events only happen once no more than twice a year.
