Is it all paid parking around the sportchek on stephen ave?
You can consider parking at the downtown core and walk over. I believe the first 3 hours is free during mall hours on the weekends.

This is sad, I visited my parents over the holidays one year and this location was open on Christmas day. Was very odd but gave me something to do.

No one needs to put a nail in the coffin of downtown Calgary. It never had a pulse to begin with - ever.
I guess you weren't there in Feb, 1988 ;) .

What is there hockey section like? I might be tempted to check it out in a week or two if the discount is greater for a new pair of skates.

From what I saw, sports equipment section had quite a bit of stuff left. I'd probably wait and see if they discount further.

A store rep said they close on Feb 10 or if they sell out sooner...

Cool. I'm in no hurry for new skates so maybe I'll check it out towards the end of January. Might need to stock up in a larger size for my kid if they have some good deals.

Hockey section has limited selection. I don't recall seeing skates at all when I was there yesterday, so you might be better off checking the SC website.

There are no skates, I was in on Sunday morning looking for some deals on equipment and it is very limited selection for sticks/gloves/helmets/protective
