I hear ya, Osprey does have a bag recommender you could use to help narrow down choices, then you could test fit in stores, but ultimately it's hard to find out if the bag is right for you without taking it for a trip or two

i've never checked them out before... is 16% off really a good deal on these? even canada goose can be found at 30% off if you are not super picky on timing/style/color...
also, why is the 20L day pack so much cheaper than the 10L? is it a lower quality product?

My %s were just based on the last price Sportchek had

Take the last one, the Wheeled Transporter for example, Osprey has it listed for $300, so that would make SportChek's $159.88 closer to $46.70% off vs the 16.72% in my post. All depends on how you want to look at it.

As for the pricing between 20L and 10L is SportChek probably had trouble clearing our the 20L and has kept reducing it's price to where it is now. You can even see the price discrepancies between the 20L Daylite in different colours

I've yet had the need to use their guarantee, but I love my Daylite Sling. Use it almost daily

For reference, employee pricing for these are nearly 30-40% off.....so if you could wait (stock is obviously limited) you would get a better price from those employee/VIP pricing days. But I would say buy these because you need them, not because you could potentially get a better price down the road (since stock is not guaranteed)

Personally, I have a porter 46 and it's one of the best purchases I've had (in terms of bags) the quality is great and the lifetime warranty (I've heard) is amazing too. Bought it for 99 at MEC but I know SC had sales that were around that price as well.

Pricing has been like this for some time as someone who watches the Osprey and Thule lines. From time to time there will be further price reductions but that is usually one or two remaining products which means you have to pull the trigger. For example...I purchased 2 Thule 40l Landmark bags last month for $55 each less $20 EMAIL coupon...there was also a 48 l women's kyte backpack (not traveller) for around $115 as I recall. I have seen even clearance Osprey reduced from time to time (rarely) by a further 25% off clearance on the website. Uncertain whether EMAIL $20 coupons work on Osprey. Also note that sometimes Triangle offers bonus CT money that stack..I have seen bonus offers on backpacks and bags at the same time as general bonus mutlipliers that can save around another $10 per $100 by increasing your CT money.

Follow up...if you want true and tested Osprey head over to Last Hunt where the Porter 46 is around $115 that can be reduced time to time based on sales and coupons.

I bought the 20l arcane and it's great as a day bag for general use or when you travel as a personal item just big enough to fit what you need when out and about or on the plane underneath your seat.

I've had my Osprey Nebula for almost 8 years now and it is still like new. I just throw it into the washing machine once in a while.

Thanks OP, I ordered the Farpoint 80 on 6th, received it today (8th)
BTW "Farpoint 80" is the slightly misleading name of the model - apparently in comes in two sizes, "S/M" and "M/L"
Sport Chek website only shows the "S/M" size; capacity is actually 76L only.
The "M/L" size has capacity 80L.
