Inspired by the legendary SPEEDCROSS, this Salomon SUPERCROSS BLAST will give you all the extra grip and protection you need to run fast and fearlessly. Whatever your playground, whatever the conditions, this trail running shoe will help you reach new limits. Salomon also made sure it has a really comfortable design with a soft lining, generous fit and spongy foam cushioning.

Thanks OP. Might look into the women's for my wife. Can anyone who has worn these provide some feedback as to their quality and how comfortable they are for jogging on both street / trail? Any comparison to Asics? That's what she's worn in the past. Thanks.

I have the SpeedCross 5s (SC5) which are very similar to these. You do not want to use these to jog on asphalt. The rubber is soft, made to grip a trail, so running on asphalt will destroy it (think winter tires in the summer). More importantly, the heel is quite elevated, which would likely cause back pain when running on a hard surface such as asphalt, a trail is more absorbent, so the high heel provides the necessary support making running a dream. Also, the chevron grips will make it extremely uncomfortable on asphalt. That being said, on trails, these are amazing. Walking, running and hiking are a dream, even when climbing up rocks. The grip is awesome. If they are anything like the SC5, could not recommend them enough for walking/hiking/running on trails, pebbles and 'natural' terrain.

Perfect thank you, good to know! I'll pass on these for now then, she does about 70/30 road/trail running. Upvote for OP though for a good deal on trail shoes.

I had one of Solomon’s ‘trail running shoe’. After WALKING only 4 times on pavement for a few hours each, the bottom was worn down. Upon asking them if this is a defect they said “it should only be worn on trails/soft surfaces”. Garage. Just complete garbage. Never again.

Noe that these are tighter/narrower than Solomon's more hiking-focused shoes.

I assume that these won't be good on a treadmill either?

Mine did that too. I run about 500 m on roads to get to the trails.

However, you have to consider these are for trail running, not road running. The treading is made to grip dirt and trails. I also use mine in snow and have great results in them. I think it road running with these shoes is akin to crying your winter tires do not last in summer :)

It's literally called a trail shoe, designed for that purpose, not a pavement street walking shoe or treadmill. Purchase the proper footwear for the intended activity.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. They are awesome when used for the purpose for which they are designed. If you use winter tires in 40-degree weather, don’t complain if the tread is used up within a few weeks. Trail running shoes are not meant for pavement.
