i think i will do the same. i ended up buying a snowboard/binding at sporting life a couple of years ago.. but didn't have to line up to get it. Looking for a new snowboard bag though. Hope there are some deals in store at local sport chek.

I feel like they changed it this year since on the site it states *exterior store entrance only. Maybe they ran into problems in previous years?

Ok gift cards were actually gift cards. You can stack them. I saw people get the gift cards and leave, which is terrible. SL might change this in the future.

My husband got two Timberland original boots for $126 inc tax. But they were very low in stock as he was the first one there to get the boots and those two were the last in sizes 9.5 to 10.

Does it really matter? Presumably the GCs will be used. If not, that ain't so bad for SL either.

Sure your logic is sound but the optics are terrible. How would you think this would work if the first 100 people got their GC and all left?

It incentivizes people to just grab and go, instead of the GCs being an extra gift to Boxing Day shoppers.
