Most likely metal sensors that are attached to the brake pad to warn they are worn out and need replacement. When brake pad is very low these sensor rub on the rotor producing a squealing noise.
Also with lite brake presure the noise usually disappears.

brake pads dont always wear evenly, sometimes one wears slightly more than the other. In my case, i had my passenger side completely worn and my driver side with 40% left still. Now im dealing with my own squeaking that is not related to worn out pads/shoes. Still have yet to find the problem...

+1 to this, I’ve been hearing a loud noise from the front driver’s side tire. I put brand new tires but the noise is still there.

^sounds like a wheel bearing... sounds like marbles rubbing together or howling

I just replaced my pads today cause one side completely wore down to the metal, the slider were crapped up and didn't slide very well.
