AdGuard servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany, and the apps do not communicate to any servers in Russia. This was a deliberate decision to keep our servers (as well as the company itself) in a different jurisdiction. Even among AdGuard DNS servers, which are supposed to be located all over the world, we don't have any in Russia. With how things are developing, we may soon have no office there either, or have a considerably smaller one. To reiterate:

AdGuard apps do not connect to any servers in Russia.
AdGuard DNS has no servers in Russia.
AdGuard VPN also has no servers in Russia. The one that's said to be in Moscow actually uses some IP address magic to present itself so, but is actually located in the Netherlands.
Secondly, we do not condone what's going on in Ukraine

Solid product. I've been using their lifetime sub for several years now. Over 25 million blocked ads and over 12 million blocked trackers.

Does this block YouTube ads on Safari when on a Mac (not mobile)?

I've had no luck with every ad blocker I've tried.

Thats what’s confusing me, can’t see a real advantage here other than the premium version creates a VPN to use DNS filtering while free only does blocking within Safari as an extension.

Can anyone chime in?

Hope I don’t sound totally stupid, but if I buy family protection can my husband and I both use on our iPads and phone? I am very old and not very tech savvy. Sorry and thanks

Correct. Family subscription allows max 9 devices, personal max 3 devices.

You can buy a cheap used raspberry pi and run a pi-hole at roughly the same price of the subscription. You also get to choose what to block on a dns level.

Update, it does!

Before you get too excited. From the webpage you linked to:

Disclaimer: currently, no ad blocker is technologically capable of blocking ads in the native YouTube App on mobile devices. This is a consequence of the underlying principles of Android OS and iOS, and not a product of the ad blockers' unwillingness or inability to do so

I use AdGuard and still get ads on the YouTube app.

Edit: they do offer a work around.

A two-step guide on how to do this:

1. Open YouTube app and start the video you want to watch.

2. Tap on the Share button and select AdGuard for Android from the list of apps.

That's it! A new window with the video will open where you'll be able to watch it without being interrupted by ads.

I did read that. Moreso to install on my 8 y.o.'s devices than mine.

This is already included in the free app so what’s the advance of the premium
