Stair newel post

Hi

Planning to redo our stair railing . I want to install a newel post at location in the picture . What will be the best way to secure the post ?

Need more details. Are you demoing a lot of that then rebuilding?

You can install the support rod, cut the post at the right angle and put it on etc

It really depends on your vision of the stairs!
