Stair Repair - Do the stairs and stair foundation need to be replaced?

Hi,

Looking for opinions on how to fix the crack in the stairs. It seems to have leaked water into the cold storage room beneath the porch. It looks like it's been patched before but evidently still detrioriating.

A couple masonry companies have suggested replacing the stairs and foundation which would cost $10-40Ks+.

What options should we be looking into?

Thanks

In my old place I put in concrete caulking at the very top step where it meets the house.. I only had three steps.. but my stairs were floating which maybe in your case as well.. so if you caulk the joint it may work as water won't get behind the stairs. also make sure the tiles are secure and the porch is not leaking.
