I got kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

Interesting observation because the best Asus router in the $200 to $400 range is the AX88U!

Blame it on my daughter. It should have been posted 15 - 20 minutes ago but she wanted food. I shall beat her accordingly for you. ;)

This has happened to a handful of people it seems, perhaps on earlier models snbforum had an owners thread that brought this up.
I don’t think most have this issue, I know I don’t although it’s only been a couple of months to be fair.

Just wondering if they can price match the same router bought about a week ago (when it was for 200 dollars)

How does this compare to the Asus AC68U for $90?

I am in the market for a router, curious if anybody considered Ubiquiti ?
It seems the Asus routers are good only with Merlin.
So torn.

Much more powerful, running a dual-core 1.8GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 256 MB of flash memory.

Supports 1024QAM (Broadcom’s new non-standard modulation technique), so for qualified clients, it can deliver up to 750 Mbps (2.4 GHz) and 2100 Mbps (5 GHz), simultaneously, hence the AC2900 designation.

RSSI and signal quality are both slightly better for the AC86U, but link rate is much better for the AC86U at lower signal strength.

We're back again folks, and I'm stuck at work while these sales drop.

Are (6x) 86U routers enough, or should I go for the devil's septet?

The jokers recommending AX routers right now, have nothing to point to under $300 as reliably proven as the 86U.

One caveat is the swinging pair Intel AX200NGW card found in laptops and embedded in PCIe cards now. It's an adapter, but it's brilliant.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

Got this in the last sale. It's blown me away with how good it is.

I don't know much about routers. But how does the processor/ram/rom make it better than AC68U? Will you get better/stronger signal? Will you be able to max out your internet speeds more consistently?

I live by myself, so usually only like 3 devices on wifi, but none of them are constantly streaming or anything like that. I was considering doing AiMesh, but not even sure I really need it.

What the actual real world advantage of AC86 vs AC68/AC66?
