Great, thanks. I did a reset and applied your changes earlier today. Checked out some photos and they did look very accurate.

Is trying to increase the contrast ratio something you want to try to do? Because it seems like with a few changes you could get some more there. But would that be less accurate?

If one of you has a hardware calibrator, if you ever wanted to help by distributing the calibrated display profile, now would be the time to do it. Waiting later would mean the screens would drift further away from factory defaults. One year from now, none of the calibrated profiles would be of any use to the monitors here due to different usages of the screen.

Hmmmm... I haven't tried to play with the contrast at all to be honest because it looked really good after my second calibration attempt. In fact, it matched up really well to my Omen 32 which is a VA panel (with subtle differences of course) which was all I was going for. The Acer is mainly being used by my wife and kids so I did a fairly quick (less than an hour?) calibration with DisplayCAL.

My posted settings and ICC profile was calibrated with a ColorMunki Display and DisplayCAL on the first day of our Acer's usage if folks were wondering.

Particulate between the panel and screen? Hard to see.

Exchange it, if it bothers you. I did the same with my VA32AQ at BestBuy back in 2018.

Because they use 'gaming' as an upsell label on their monitor line, and charge more for it.

4 ms response time, 75 hertz and Freesync, you could probably play most games pretty damned well actually . . .at 1440p you would need a pretty solid GPU to average 75 FPS and an even better one to keep your min. FPS above 75.

There are many difference spec a monitor can classify as “gaming”.. I think 75Hz just good for everyday use and some light gaming...

To me Gaming Monitor need to be 144Hz.

Picked up the monitor, vast improvement over my previous one.

I've looked online, but hoping someone might have the answer.... I've tried a couple of games (using default resolution and high'ish settings) and both times the screen is periodically (but frequently) goes black for a few seconds. The game is still working, but obviously this is a touch annoying... In the windows environment it works fine at the default resolution @ 75hz.

RX580, latest drivers, connected via the display port that was included.

Any insight? EDIT - Switched to HDMI and appears to be resolved.

Try a different DP cable. If still does that. Then something wrong with DP port.
