I was just about to say, my DP port decided to stop working too. When did you send it in and when are you supposed to be getting it back? I'm dreading having to warranty it.
same, im just using hdmi for the time being as my port went on the fritz. Although I never tried using another dp port cable to test further

Should test with another DP cable, to save from the trouble of shipping

I'm so torn on what I should do for a monitor. I can get a great condition Dell 27" S2716DG for 300, which I think is a steal for a 144hz, 1440p G-sync monitor, but I do have my apprehension in buying something used.

I'm running a 1070ti so I think 1440p is the sweet spot for me, although an IPS screen like the one here is appealing too.

Hmmm

Hmm I'm just testing the coupon and they seem to exclude technology and won't apply towards the monitors

I've been running a 1070 @ 4K since 2016. You just need to turn off AA and lower a few settings to High instead of Ultra on anything new.

Runs great.

Hmm, didn't know that. What frame rate are you running?

If I buy using a Staples coupon now and price match, will the coupon I use now apply on top of the price match when the deal is active?

In older games like BF4 and Tomb Raider 2013 = 90fps
In newer games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider = 75fps

For $279 it is a pretty price. I'd recommend people spend the extra $ and go with a 4K resolution though, the detail difference is incredible.
4k requires a workhorse GPU to go with it for games, or 4k content for media which isn't very common yet/will eat up tons of bandwidth. Are there other applications you had in mind?

I also watch 4K Youtube videos daily on only a 15mbs connection. Not sure why you're worried about bandwidth.

@lincoln isn't wrong about the Ultra vs High distinction, you can do 4K today with a 1070/2060 card.

Where I take issue is the VA panel, which while a decent compromise panel, still lacks the brightness and vibrancy punch of an IPS at close range.

The gold standard at 32" is 4K60 IPS, and that's tough to source under $500 CAD, as opposed to the $259 - $279 for OP's beast.

Here's the 32" 4K VA panel at $399, not bad, but again it's the VA panel which I find problematic out-of-game:
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ac ... 08334.aspx

Here's a Viewsonic 32" 4K IPS monitor, a better alternative, sitting pretty at $529.99 (i.e. too expensive):
https://www.amazon.ca/ViewSonic-VX3211- ... 07F733RYH/

The smarter move, is actually grabbing a 43" or 49" TV panel usable as monitor, if you're desperate for 4K. 4K @ 32" is a waste of PPI unless you're close to your panel. Ironically, VA panels are less of a problem at larger sizes because of the distance between you and the panel reducing the viewing angle distortion.

Samsung RU7100 4K (2019) 43" (VA Panel) @ $548

if your coupon is for $X amount of $300 or more
and after price adjustment, is below $300, then coupon will be invalid.
if you use $X amount of $200 and more
then is fine

but If the rep want to be an A$$. They might say no coupon allowed with price match.
since some coupon would says "Can not combine with other offers".
so depends on the rep you get.

Runs great, but doesn't look great. I've been running 4k with a 1070 in games like far cry and gta v and way preferred to sacrifice some fps for better visuals. I've got a 2080 now and it's still not enough to push new games higher then 60 fps while still retaining most visual quality. You are right that some graphic setting aren't worth the performance hit, but aa off bugs the shit out of me.

NOOB question, but is this monitor suitable for working with WORD and EXCEL docs side-by-side, instead of using two separate monitors? Using this primarily for work ... ok, and maybe some TV-watching.

Also, can you mount this on a monitor arm (I see in specs you can't hang on wall).
