Just checked out the reviews on Staples' web site. Can't believe "Jason W" gave it 1 out of 5 because it was too big.

[Staples] Acer ET322QU 31.5" WQHD IPS 75Hz 1440p 4ms FreeSync Monitor with Built-in Speaker - $299.99 [Stackable w/ $30 off $300 = ~$270.00]

So folks, this monitor is coming back, reviving our experience from a few months ago:
staples-acer-et322qu-31-5-wqhd-ips-75hz ... 0-2225611/

This has my endorsement.

Here's my somewhat colorful first post information from my old thread:

So gents, we may be turning the page as the Asus 32" VA32AQ IPS 60Hz 1440p 5ms Monitor with Built-in Speakers is no longer the king of the 16:9 value hill.

In September 2018, that mantle may pass to the Acer ET322QU 31.5" WQHD IPS 75Hz 1440p 4ms FreeSync Monitor with Built-in Speaker. Normally priced at $400, this now sits at $299.99, and with a worthless filler, you can use the $30 off $300 coupon to bring it down to $270.

Side point 1: I know many folks here are still 16:9 die-hards, but they're also practical like myself, and don't live or die at 4K on a 32" set. The PPI on 32" 16:9 panels at 1440p is fantastic, and at four times the PPI of a 32" 720p TV (my old second monitor from 2015) I'm quite happy.

Side Point 2: This deal also meets my Black Friday Threshold Pricing for this unit.

Tweaks and Tricks

Updated ICC profile has been uploaded along with PDF reports! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Settings are as follows:
Mode: User
Gamma: 2.2
Brightness: 27 (for 120 cd/m2)
Rgain: 47
Ggain: 50
Bgain: 51

All other settings left at default factory but feel free to adjust performance settings to taste.

Commentary: Man, this monitor calibrated really nicely second time around! Probably because I remembered a bit more of what I needed to do for set up.

Gamut coverage is 99.8% sRGB, 85.2% Adobe RGB and 90.2% DCI P3. Gamut volume is 134.5%, 92.7% and 95.3% respectively. I was able to achieve a measured whitepoint of 6480K. Colour Temp, Gamma and Grayscale all tracked well, especially for a budget screen.

Enjoy!

Wildout wrote: I just finished calibrating my monitor with a Spyder4Pro. Hooked up to a late 2013 MacBook Pro.

I was able to achieve 100% SRGB with the following settings

Mode: User
Gamma: 2.2
Brightness 23 (100 cd/m2)
Rgain: 63
Ggain: 44
Bgain: 44

Colour Temp was measured to 6514k

I didn't bother calibrating for the other colour spaces as I never use them.

I think that covers everything.

Hope that helps.

I'm part of the previous wave of buyers. Just my 2 cents, but I am happy with it. I paired it with a 32" 2K HP from a couple of years ago, and use them for work/productivity.

Well Nvidia card does not support FreeSync. But there are work arounds.
G-sync monitors cost a lot more.

The ASUS VA32AQ is very comparable, and it does overclock to 74Hz easily. It lacks FreeSync, but it's been great. I'm using it to type to you folks right now.

I ended up buying (5x) of these Asus panels for the business.

If I didn't discover them first, I probably would've bought (5x) of the Acer panels.

God bless.

I haven't seen it myself, but FWIW I did find these:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanad ... itor_with/
Q: "Do you know if this monitor is vesa mountable?"
A1: "yes, 100 x 100."
A2: "Yep the holes are there. No mention of it in the manual though. Weird."

https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanad ... _1440_309/
"UPDATE: My monitor came in so I thought I'd share some info. It does in fact have VESA moutable screw holes (100x100)."

So after reading all pages of the previous thread on this monitor, it quickly became apparent there may be a run on stores for this panel like last time and orders may get cancelled due to low stock. I called my neighborhood Staples and they had 3 in stock so I picked one up and confirmed (twice) that I can get a price adjustment if the monitor is sold for cheaper in the next 30 days (including BF). So I paid $399 but will return to the store on Wednesday for a price adjustment. Hunting for 30 off coupons is too much work and I didn’t want to miss out on this monitor.

I just plugged it in and it’s a beautiful display. Coming from a 2009 iMac 21.5” screen is a significant step up. The monitor is well constructed. I ran a bunch of monitor tests on YouTube and didn’t see any dead or stuck pixels. The speakers are good enough for my purposes. VESA mounts at the back and a small detachable metal peg to hang headphones. The menu buttons and on screen display is a bit annoying to use at first but I got the hang of it. There is a overdrive extreme option however changing it didn’t do anything but that’s likely because I have it plugged to an ancient laptop incapable of pushing more than 60fps, I’ll try it again in a few days when my X1E arrives.

Overall, really pleased with the purchase., thanks OP! Now have to wait until Wednesday for the price adjustment, hopefully they won’t deny on some weird technicality.
