Probably it accepts 4K signal but downscales it to 1440p.

I don't know if this is actually a thing but. I went to nvidia control panel change resolutions and then customize made the acer 3840x2160 @75hz. Seems to be working how interesting.

Are you guys suggesting that somehow this is a 4K panel in disguise?

This is what it shows in Windows Advance Display setting

Acer.JPG

Says:
Desktop resolution: 3840 x 2160
active Signal Resolution : 2560 x 1440
75Hz

I set Tomb Raider to 3840 x 2160
and was playable

For uninitiated, this is what the gentlemen above are hoping for:
- Acer lazily slapped 4K panels into an 2.5K marketed display
- Acer software locked the display at 2.5K
- Said software lock is weak and easily overriden
- Native 4K displays at full resolution

...

Ipso facto, we have 32" 4K IPS displays for $270 to $300.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

I think this is a bug. I had three monitors, two were 1920 and third was 1366. On the 1366, it displayed an onscreen error that it couldn't handle 1920. It still displayed the desktop, just not scaled correctly. The desktop and actual signal said 1920 and 1366. At the time, it seemed like a Windows 1809 bug. I ended up replacing third monitor with a 1920 monitor and error went away.

I think this is just rescaling and likely not ideal performance.

But the ET322QK is a VA panel... it would be one thing to software lock a 4k panel to 1440p but selling it as an IPS panel would be fraud (regardless of how one would feel about the 'free' resolution bump)

Unfortunately it's not a 4k panel. Anything over its native resolution will be upscaled and does not look crisp when compared to a real 4k monitor.

There is no error, screen artifact, no flickering or error display @ 3840 x 2160

What's the documented pixel pitch.... can you check the manual ?

For a 32", 4K panel should be around 0.16 / 0.18 mm. If it's around 0.23 mm, it's likely not 4K.

Manual says :
pixel pitch: 0.2727mm (H) x 0.2727mm (V)

so is not a downscaled 4K panel in disguise.
