I haven't upvoted or downvoted but I would assume the downvote for "not a good price" is because it's a generally accepted opinion that the best price for an Intel Mac right now is if someone pays you to take it.

Again, not necessarily my opinion, but you're definitely going to get a lot of downvotes for posting any Intel Mac deal.

My guess is the downvotes are because it is not a good price for those specs, or for what else is available at that price.
The amount of discount doesn't dictate value, it's what you get and what your alternatives would be.

For someone who must have this specific model only, perhaps it's a good deal. But one might say that's a very small target, and to the others not a hot deal.

The 21.5" iMac was never good, even before the M1.

- Very difficult RAM upgrade process (taking off the screen, just for a start), and this one only has 8GB
- that CPU is only dual core
- (edit, missed earlier) this is the lowest model, doesn't even have the retina screen

the price is ok, but really this hardware is at end of life, which is the issue. Nobody should be buying Intel based Mac hardware, as all software development is supporting the new Apple chips. Sure Apple say they will keep supporting Intel for the near future, but you won't likely see updates for the apps.

The 21.5" got up to 8th gen, while the 27" got up to 10th gen.

The reviewed unit has a 1TB hard drive, makes it a lot slower than the SSD version.

It’s like buying a Suzuki car in Canada. It’s on sale but try and service it.

I have a MacBook Pro 16' 2019 and I'm mostly using it as a Windows PC. At least run most games I try. It was my first Mac and I bought it with a huge discount. But most probably I will buy a Windows Gaming Laptop in the future when the time comes to replace it.

Funny you say that, I had a Mac Mini (2014 model with i5), and even out the box (and not for gaming) I found it was faster and more stable on Windows 10 than Mac OS. Go Figure lol

Ran that machine for 7 years on W10 natively (no dual boot or parallels). Great little machine, until you realize you can't upgrade the RAM, which became literally the only reason I sold it and bought a new PC :(

Not to mention that CPU is what would go in a macbook air. Even quad core is showing its age.
Also, absolutely love macOS and even have a hackintosh but would never buy a dual core today.
