I ordered an extra one from Best Buy that I no longer need. I paid it $113 after price matching with Staples. Will sell it at cost if anyone’s interested. Just waiting for Best Buy to credit me the price match. Right now my credit card is showing $407 for two of them.
Please DM me if you’re interested.

I used Usenet to run my tests as that's the only place I care about maxing out my speeds and where I know can easily handle 1Gbit connections. Without router = 900Mbps+ download speeds. With the router in place, 300-500Mbps max. I did multiple tests downloading the exact same thing each time. It was definitely something to do with the netgear router.
yeah, definitely your router, your test is solid :)

Wow, I’m very happy with ASUS Blue, the signal is triple stronger than Rogers crap modem and ASUS N66U. For my small townhouse I get almost full speed everywhere.

I used coupon all the time with clearance stuff, never have problems.

Mine is getting delivered by "Associated Transportation Consultants", has anyone heard of these guys? No tracking, no door tags, nothing.
I have a feeling it's going to get sent back. I don't know why large companies deal with rinky dink delivery companies with no infrastructure.

I'm guessing this is a big upgrade over my current one?

https://www.netgear.com/home/products/n ... -techspecs

It's in my basement so I get some spotty coverage on the top floor of my house.
Big upgrades? Don't think so.
You'll be better off getting a 2nd router and setup a wired or wireless mesh.
You can flash FreshTomato to the R6300s and use WDS
I bought 2 R6300v2 used and I'm using the 5Ghz as backbone between the 2 routers and have a different SSID for the 2.4Ghz on the second router, you could do the same for your 2nd floor IMO
Otherwise your wireless device may have tendancy to hope between the 2AP and when you're connected to the 2nd router, your throughput will be halved.

Thanks, OP.

Ordered this for pickup over the weekend, and asked about the 25% off clearance sale when I picked it up. They rang it up for me at the cheaper price at $74.99.

Finally set it up over the weekend, replacing my Home Hub 3000 and Pods, which never worked all that well to begin with. Signal strength and range are good, and covers my entire two-storey house including basement. I have Bell Fibe Gigabit, and get 300-400 Mbps on my iPhone X in most places, and 150ish Mpbs in corners of the house.

Blue cave is better than your r6300, but the problem with your wifi coverage is your house, not the router. You have too many floors. It's time to wire up a second access point or splurge on an orbi.

even worse... i don't think Staples will leave a box unmonitored or even contact you about the delivery attempt... during the hyken deal recently, they tried several times then cancelled my order (yes, i work between 8-6, you couldn't leave a note so could re-route the package)
I ended up buying one in person instead
