This is a great price for an AC2600 router! What am I missing? Why aren’t these flying off the shelves?

Thanks OP. Picked one up in store at $74.98. Super deal for a AC2600 router! Will AiMesh it with my main RT-AC86u and see how it goes.

How did you get it for $75 instead of $99,
Would you mind posting a receipt?

I just picked up the 86u and in just now starting to read up on AiMesh.

Does the 2nd AiMesh router need to be connected with an ethernet or does it just broadcast it's signal through wifi?

My question I guess is that am I going to have to run ethernet from my 1 router to the other?

In store some staples do extra 25% discount on everything in clearance this is ymmv I believe its up to the store and they do this whenever they have too much clearance in stock. As this is a clearance item if your store has this sale you should get an extra 25% off.

Also to add, the box i had clearly had the yellow 99.99 clearance sticker on it. I suspect if your store Doesnt have the clearance sticker on it, its highly unlikely they would discount it even if they had the 25% off sale.

It's a clearance item so 25% off $99.97 - $24.99 = $74.98.

But what if you can hook up both routers with ethernet? Does it make the coverage better?

Not sure/ havent tried mesh with asus, But yes some mesh routers support hooking up the satellite routers by ethernet as well. By doing so it can be arguably more secure and reliable from my understanding.. But certainly not essential.
Coverage wouldnt really change much, except i suppose you wouldnt have to put the satellites receiver's as close together..
