[Staples] ASUS Zenbook UX33FA, i5-8265u, 8GB, 256GB SSD - $900 (after coupon code)

This zenbook is on sale for 999. use 63471 to get extra 10% off brings the total to 900plux tax.
decent buy in my opinion.

This zenbook at 999-10%, Matebook X Pro at $1199-10%, or the XPS 13 at $1299-10% sign up - $10% ebates (ignoring the 3% dell rewards)?

That brings the prices to (before tax)
Zenbook $900
Matebook X Pro $1079
XPS 13 $1052

Was a tough call between the Matebook X Pro and XPS already...

For me I would be a tie in in first place between the Matebook and Zenbook with XPS a close second. Difficult decision for sure

Any idea why Asus makes both 13.3 and 14" zenbooks? Are the screens different aspect ratios?

They have so many different models with minor differences that it becomes overwhelming to select.

It is not like they don't want to use DDR4. LPDDR3 is ideal for ultrabooks.

At reasoning for placing the XPS last?
Not sure if the unidays code not working anymore makes the decision making any easier!

Hi guys, my son wants a zenBook. We were looking at the zenbook on costco site,

https://www.costco.ca/ASUS-ZenBook-UX43 ... 76968.html

Costco has better wanranty and screen is bigger 14' over 13.3.

Do you kindly give us some opinion which one to choose?

Thanks.
not sure why asus makes a 13.3" AND 14" while keeping all the specs the same. as far as i can tell from the advertisement, there's no differences between the two besides screen size.

edit: looks like the costco one has the "dual display" touchpad. the touchpad is a screen. I've personally tried it and didn't like it. But you can always turn that off.

It's not a display or screen. It's just a numpad.

There are other models with the display built into the touchpad, but this isn't one of them.

If you can spend a bit more costco has the flip version with pen and touchscreen and twice the storage. https://www.costco.ca/ASUS-ZenBook-UX46 ... 96101.html

Just as a comparison the newest model (mid 2019) with 14" touch screen, and second touch pad screen, i7, 16GB ram and 512GB SSD was $1399 at newegg yesterday and I was able to price match at bestbuy. Currently its back to $1499. I know this is significantly more expensive but just wanted to share for those that might have a bigger budget.
