[Staples] Brother DCP-L2550DW All-in-One Wireless Laser Printer - $140

Good printer. Very reliable. After market cartridges work flawlessly. Not sure if this is the best price but very reasonable.

If you don't mind refurb by brother (carries same warranty as BNIB and comes with a new toner), then its $129 + take an additional 15% off by subscribing to their newsletter.

Guess 139$ has been the regular price for a fairly long time. I bought 2390DW for 119$, and the only drawbacks are no Ethernet port and 32pages/min. And it's more compact and lighter. love it and just what i need for home.

Is the cartridge chip-based(which means no refill possible)?

Nothing major. I bought that MFC-9340CDW a few days ago for $378, though the lower models (9130, 9330) are frequently on sale below $300. I just wanted duplexing on every input/output.

9310 is $250 at Staples right now.

Print quality seems to be so-so on those printers, although the Brother models have - by far - the cheapest aftermarket toner options.

check on 123ink
for toners using a chip, they sell toners with or without the chip, so you can transfer the chip yourself and save a few $

I bought 2520 refurb from Brother couple years ago for $60 something, it was brand new with page count under 10
very happy with it.

Before buying a colour laser printer make sure to look up cartridge costs, they can be killer as can servicing costs. I wouldn't recommend buying a colour laser unless you do a lot of colour printing.

I don't think I will be doing a lot of colour printing. I just didn't want to buy monochrome and then wish I had gone for colour.

My current brother inkjet sometimes doesn't recognize ink levels. Might be because I went with aftermarket ink from 123ink.

Has anyone run into that issue and was able to fix it?
