[Staples] Brother P-Touch CUBE Bluetooth Label Maker $44.99 ($25 off)

Being a bluetooth label maker (with no user interface of its own), you use your iOS or Android device to select designs, fonts, size, etc. and then print your label! Anyone who has used the handheld label makers (especially home/hobby priced variety) have experienced the less-than-ideal user interface. Seeing your design on a large screen, and having an intuitive UI, makes this even kid-friendly (applicable in my case, for the intended recipient). Uses common Brother (or aftermarket) P-Touch TZe 6mm, 9mm, and 12mm tapes. Requires 6 AAA batteries or optional (non-included) AC adapter.

On sale at $44.99 ($25 off Staples' retail price) minus another 10% off using discount coupon code 63471 (thanks @Gtaphotog!) (exp. Sep 1), it works out to $40.50+tax which seems like a decent price, compared to prices at Amazon.ca north of $79.95. I did a search of some other online Canadian retailers and most are up in the $55-60+ range for this model, plus shipping.

Don't forget to access staples.ca using Rakuten.ca (formerly Ebates.ca) for an additional 2% cashback. Staples next-day free shipping for orders $35+ applies, and 1 Air Mile for the $40+ purchase.

Most people that frequent staples will have to use it via guest checkout as codes can only be used once per account.

Anyone know if these can label Ethernet cables? Or thermal ones?

In their promo video, Brother has a picture of a patch panel with Ethernet cables labeled! They mention using special-application labels, so not sure if you need to find TZe labels for marking cables. If you attach labels as a "flag" (around cable and back onto itself), I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you're placing the length of the label along the axial direction of the cable, then maybe you'd need the special purpose label, or at least wrap the label with a larger clear label/tape.

Lol. "Oh, I better not take this, it has a label" -said no one ever.

Laser engraver if you want to apply a little shame to the thieves.

I am a bit reluctant to use any label maker that does not have any standalone UI. Once the manufacturer stopped updating the software for your phone/tablet, it will become a doorstop.

Is there a limit to how long you can make the label?
