Seems like an okay price, but that regular price seems inflated

Its not black ink only, just the color of the printer is black. The printer is also available in white.

Canon Pixma has knock off ink, but cost per page isn't comparable to knock off laser, especially Brother.

According to Canon press released, its been released August 2021. I am guessing that's around the time I purchased. because I am such a ch13p g00y. I purchased a second one when my ink ran, because it was on sale a Walmart for $19..99. Ink now costs $50-90 for it for the two inks.

The Canon PIXMA TR4720 printer also includes:

2 FINE 4 color hybrid ink cartridges
Approximately 8.8 ipm (black) / 4.4 ipm (color) print speed7
Up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi print resolution8
Auto Document Feeder for scanning documents
Wireless Direct Connection9
Auto Duplex Print for letter-size paper

College students, schools and home office users will find the functionality of the PIXMA TR4720 printer easy to navigate while producing the high-quality prints consumers have grown accustomed to. In addition, the printer includes a large capacity paper tray, which can reduce the frequency of paper refilling (especially helpful when facing an impending deadline). The app compatibility of the PIXMA TR4720 printer is also impressive. Apps such as: AirPrint®1, Mopria Print Service (AndroidTM users only)2, PIXMA Cloud Link3, Smart Assistant Support (select brands only)4, PosterArtist Lite (Windows® OS users only)5 and more allow the end user to experience a variety of creative print options based on their preferences.

1 AirPrint functionality requires a compatible iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch device running iOS 7.0 or later, and an AirPrint-enabled printer connected to the same network as your iOS device. A printer connected to the USB port of your Mac, PC, AirPort Base station, or Time Capsule is not supported.

That's because printers come with a small supply. If you think it's better to buy a new printer every time you run out of ink then good luck landfills Face With Tears Of Joy

Not super well reviewed, but if you need a printer, Canon or Brother seems to be the way to go these days, and $60 is cheap as hell.

It's a provincial fee, not federal. And they've been around for like 15 years.

Thanks OP for this.

I am looking for a printer and always wondered is it worth it to get a more budget friendly one or to pay a little bit more to get a better one. I saw Costco has the Epson ET 2850 $70 OFF making it $270+tax (https://www.costco.ca/epson-ecotank-et- ... 72942.html), was considering this one, but haven't decided yet, reviews on costco site seems poor. I don't plan on using a printer very often, probably for printing return labels, and a sheet here and there, prefer to have colour in case the kids need to print colour, the Epson one seems like its good for photos, which is a nice option and reviews on photo quality is suppose to be "good" not exactly sure what that means.

Any experts on printers here can give me some thoughts whether $270+tax for the Epson ET2850 is a good deal? or whether I should opt for the Canon Pixma TR4720? I also dont' want to buy a printer very often, i know average life is prob 4-6 years for a printer, if i maintain it well, will it last me 10+years?

I'm also open to suggestions, if anyone has a suggestion for a printer at home for causal printing.

Thanks,

There isn't one, I normally check reviews on Amazon every time.

Its still extra fee. If I recall correctly, they took this away for a while or integrated into the price.
