[Staples] Duracell AA Alkaline Batteries - 24 Pack $6.99 (Reg. $19.99) Dec. 19 ONLY

Seems like a good deal, $6.99 for 24pack.

Price match at HD for an extra 10%.

Anybody got any comments on the actual deal. Rather than not understanding the timing or price matching.

And two downvotes who can't get the deal. Guess they are busy on Saturday.

BTW Lowes also does PM-10% though you're supposed to go to customer service. And they sell Duracell 24pk. Note that the restrictions on the policy include not Boxing Day/Week, that's not what the Staples flyer said but I'll be interested if Lowes/HD pushes back.

I got a 48 pack from Costco and they leaked. I hope the staples one is better.

You got Duracells that leaked or some no-name brand?

I once bought Home Depot house-name brand that leaked like a sieve. Never again. Learned my lesson with Home Depot. Nothing against house-brand batteries but HD = garbage in my books.

If you ever get Duracells that leak while still good dated you should contact them or the retailer for a refund. Costco would have taken them back a year later for sure.

Regular Duracells and Energizers @ AA size for 33 cents per battery is an average sale price. And sales come around all the time at different sellers.

So $6.99 for 24 is 29 cents per unit. That's about as good as you'll find for AA Duracells. If the date is at least 3 years or longer. Anything shorter suggests old stock being cleared out.

If I recall, Walmart had a similar deal for Energizers at Black Friday and will likely again for Boxing Week. Right now they have 38 AA Energizers for $12.97 (34.13 cents per so nothing special).

[edit] I would aim for 25 cents per AA battery on Duracells for a GOOD sale price. If you can wait for Boxing Day you may find some. Everyone needs batteries for the new toys that Santa brought.

The one I got from Costco was Duracells. Duracells should have had a better quality control.
