The point is, the starter kit in some cases like FritzToch or myself (see our earlier posts), is no different from a regular kit and is not part of the Instant Ink Program. Again, YMMV.
I still don't think you can put the setup ink back into the printer after opting out of Instant Ink, based on what the guy was telling me. it's a costly gamble, since you could be throwing away nearly a full cartridge if you swap to the instant ink ones right away and try to 'save' the setup ink. because if what I was told is indeed correct, you'd be forced to buy a whole new set of cartridges, or just opt back into instant ink.
