Good to know 8720 is slightly better than 8710.
The only thing I don’t like about 8720 is, it can’t print/save photo from/to usb. And high resolution scan copy must be in jpg format.

will give the 8710 to my parents since they only have a b/w laser and they barely print

Once I get them setup under the 15page free/month plan I can post back on real life experience.

Here’s hoping HPII free plan is honored since it seems YMMV on the 8700s in Canada
I am using th 8720 now, I like the legal size flatbed, but it is huge and noisy, so just wonder should I downsize to 8710.

Did a print comparison from the Walmart free 8x10 freebie. Very comparable image quality between the two photo prints. Just that the Walmart was on glossy paper to make it look better.
What type of photo paper do you use? My print out is more like the pic on magazine, doesn’t look like photo.

This one.

Thanks OP and everyone. Going to call HP to set up Instant Ink soon. 15 pages / month for free sounds perfect for me.

This was a low res image, but still came out decent blown up to full page. Left one was the Walmart print. But I’ve printed high res images and it looks great with this printer. And that’s the page I’m using

around 50 cents per piece of paper after tax. I think I might get bored after 10 prints though - cant use 150 pieces.

Yours are much better, mine are very matte, more like the colors are faded. Maybe I should get another pack of photo paper.

You might need to calibrate your color profile in windows for your printer, or maybe the printer just prints it this way. You can see the white color is very yellowish compared to the walmart print. But this is like going down the rabbit hole but at least the ink is somewhat free even if the paper isnt

You mean it has 2 sets of nozzles and prints on both sides of the paper at the same time? I've never seen a printer do this.. all of the true duplex printers I've seen, automatically flip the page over and print - even $10k enterprise printers....

Hope that you didn't do like I did... put the glossy paper in the wrong way in the paper tray. Was wondering why the colours looked dull???
Looks great after I learned how to put the paper in... Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes
I can't afford to save that much!

Yeah, image from this printer looks warmer in tone. But skin tones look fine when printed though.

Hehe yup. For all of us that didn't read the manual, paper goes face down in the paper tray. And when you insert documents in the ADF, it goes face up and top of page inserted in.

are you able to insert 50 pages into the ADF? My ADF only takes around 43 pages

HaHa I did once. The ink won’t even stay on the paper and make a mess.
