[Staples] Huawei MateBook X Pro (13.9", i5-8250U, 256 GB SSD, 8 GB LPDDR3): 1199.99 - 10% off

I am currently looking for a laptop for school and stumbled upon this. There's an additional 10% off with the Staples coupon: 63471

But I'm not sure if I should go with this or the Dell XPS 13 (13.3", i5-8265U, 256 GB SSD, 8GB LPDDR3) for 1399.99 - 10% newsletter - 10% unidays - 12% ebates for around $997 (not sure about my math)?

Any thoughts?

XPS 13 for sure. Every tech review I’ve read on best laptops it’s almost always number 1. Also, not sure what the status oh Huweai is but I would stay away with all the controversy about spying, etc and then a trumps bans the brand and then unban them.

Don't you also get the $200 prepaid Visa as well?

I think the XPS is such a better deal

I had the i7/512/MX150 version of this laptop and it was easily the nicest laptop I've ever used by far. Ended up paying about $1574 CDN (Microsoft Store Student Discount brought it down from $1799) + tax = $1780 Total and I resold it a year later for $1500 CDN on eBay when I needed money. If it wasn't for Huawei's reputation it would be my first choice when getting a new laptop.

If you don't care about owning a Huawei product and just want a really good laptop, these are nice machines and a good deal if you don't want the dedicated graphics card version.

I would NOT buy anything Huawei again. Too many disappointments with their products, terrible customer service, no accountability for their products' flaws, careless attitude.

I’d watch out for Asus machines. Sometimes it says IPS panel but what they actually have is an “IPS level” panel. Which is not the same. Saw them in person and it’s a real step down from an actual ips.
