[Staples] Lenovo 82KT00GVUS IdeaPad 3 14" FHD Laptop, Ryzen 5 5500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, $600

I think this is currently best deal for 14 inch laptop with core i5 / Ryzen 5 level performance.

Other laptops just below this price range are all core i3 / Ryzen 3.

So for $100 more, I think this deal is the best out there right now for this level of laptop.

I understand that doesn’t necessarily means this deal is “hot” but at least this is a good deal ?

Keep in mind that Lenovo now locks their processor out so it can't be used in another device. Not dramatic in the case of a laptop but gives a good idea of the direction this company is taking. Good deal anyway.

Does Lenovo have frequent eBay codes/sales?

I bought this about a month ago. For what it is and the price I paid, I'm shockingly satisfied with its performance. Because of the 14" screen, it's battery life is pretty good. The keyboard is acceptable. The trackpad is sub par. The fingerprint reader is nice. The internals are snappy and my work experience with emails, my estimating program, my pdf suite etc has been much better than expected.
I was trying to convince myself to upgrade to a ThinkPad x12 (as they're 50% off now) but I don't think I can stomach the increased cost for similar performance + touchscreen and pen at 2.5 times the cost.
My current setup with this is an HDMI cable to 1440p monitor and external mouse and keyboard, but when I'm working on the road or in the field I'm on the laptop only.
For reference, my personal gaming rig is a ryzen 7 3800x, 16gb ddr4 3600 ram with an rtx 3070.
Keep in mind tho the USB c port is data transfer only and not video out or passthrough.
If you're looking for a cheap, surprisingly snappy, small laptop but don't expect all the bells and whistles, this is probably the best cheapest option out there that isn't a Chromebook.

Hi, Could you use the USB-C for charging the laptop?
