Horrible software. Pretty much a virus by itself that will slow your system, install crap everywhere and change Windows settings.

Also worth noting that this is a 1-year subscription, not a "lifetime" use software. But a good deal for those who need to extend a current subscription. Thanks.

The quality of the product is relevant to the quality of the deal. Just because something is cheap or cheaper than normal doesn't automatically make it a deal. Given the general perception that McAfee is a bad product, it doesn't matter how cheap it is, people here will down vote it.

We have a whole slew of McAfee products, so I get a bunch of free codes every year. Since I don’t really hate anyone in my surroundings, they end up in the recycle bin.

That said, I give the OP thumbs up just as encouragement - sometimes RFDers can be quite cruel ;)

you have no ideas how a report of stolen credit card (...) affect your credit. Happened twice in your history, that bank won't issue a credit card for you

When you come across a deal on top level security software that will not destroy a computer and act like malware -- and let a lot of bad stuff sneak through -- please post it.

Despite a new interface and a low price, we can only advise you to steer well clear. After all, this is a suite that stopped fewer viruses than Windows 10’s built-in Defender client – and managed to pick up more false positives. In other words, installing McAfee Total Protection leaves you at greater risk than doing nothing at all. - http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/mcafee/m ... protection

Windows 10’s built-in Defender is excellent as long as you are somewhat aware of what you are doing. McAfee anti virus is a virus.

Thanks for the post. I have been using McAfee for over a decade and never had any issues. If you don't like the deal don't use it. Every one can decide for themselves.
