[Staples] (Price Error?)Lexmark MS821dn Single Function Monochrome Laser Printer (50G0100), $159.99 (86% off)

I'm not an expert in printers and especially in expensive ones, but this seems like a price error.
Just popped up this morning on https://stocktrack.ca/?s=st price drops.
Everywhere else it's around ~$1000 CAD. Lowest price on amazon is $965.99 according to keepa.
This is a commercial level printer, not your usual home machine. Probably overkill for most people.

I'm not sure if Staples honors price errors, but worth a chance, I guess.

Don't think it's a price error, the specs are pretty unremarkable. We've often see similar Lexmark printers in the $80-$140 range. There was a price error when one was $20 (but it was in a different class). Their color laser printers even go down as low as $140 sometimes

The biggest drawback with Lexmark is the extremely expensive ink. Their cartridges have low yields and they make it extremely hard to refill/remanufacture

The cost/page goes completely down the drain after 1 ink change -- you'll be much further ahead with a brand like Brother

I put an order through. I hope it's a price error and I didn't just buy a normal price printer.

Same here, also used -$10 newsletter coupon.

I believe the reason it's so expensive is because this is a commercial printer, and not a consumer model.

This is a commercial office printer, not a home use printer. It prints at 55ppm, automatic duplexing, support for up to 6 paper trays, the starter cartridge is rated for 11,000 pages... As seafish said these retail for over $1000.

Looks like meant to be 159 dollars off, not total based on Best Buys sale discount.
Seems to be business style printer meant for thousands of prints a month. Not for at home use. Toner is around 200-300 dollars to replace.

damn... conflicting info

anyone know for sure if this is really a $1000 printer or just a normal price one?

I can always call staples and cancel my order, right?

Op, always place order and only post when yours is near dispatch or dispatched! Someone will no doubt ring them or ask "Hurr is this right price????"

...whcih is actually not a bad price for commercial purposes, considering brand name home use toners cost $70-80 and only prints 3000-5000 pages depending on the brand, and this one prints 11K+ pages

I think it’s regular price. We have these in office and the print quality is terrible may be they are not using proper ink. I have one at home too but bought it for $30, i might have to through it out once it will run out of ink as people here saying it’s ink is very expensive.

Just my two cents. My office has a couple of these, so I can confirm these are for commercial usage
